My name is Justin Metzler and I am a 24 year old professional triathlete from the United States of America. I did my first triathlon in 2006 at the age of 13 and have not looked back since. This sport has naturally become my hobby, my occupation and my lifestyle. I live in Boulder, Colorado with my girlfriend, fellow pro, Jeanni Seymour. I travel around the globe competing in the most competitive races on the circuit against some of the most talented athletes in the world.
2017 marks my fourth year as a PRO and over that time I have put together 8 podium finishes and 30 top-10 finishes in addition to getting my first win this season at Challenge Iceland.
I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015 with a degree in Human Physiology and immediately shifted my attention to my racing and coaching businesses.
In addition to training and coaching, I enjoy to traveling (which conveniently is part of my job description!). I oddly enjoy grocery shopping. I like coffee- a lot. And most of all, I like spending time with my girlfriend who I affectionately call the “little legend.”
For now, I am focusing my attention on podium finishes at 70.3 distance events but I look forward to progressing into the full Ironman distance in the coming years. I have ambitious goals in this sport but I have a philosophy that hard (yet smart) work will always triumph. Fortunately, I firmly believe that I am one of the hardest working dudes out there! I am excited to see what the future brings.
I try to be very approachable and communicate with anybody who reaches out. So if you have any questions about my racing, your training, tech, gear, coaching or anything else do not hesitate to reach out.
